Abstract
Annual monitoring of malaria vector mosquitoes in endemic and at-risk regions was performed in 2016. Collection sites were located in Incheon metropolitan city, northern Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do province. While black light traps for monitoring were used from April to October, a total of 18,707 adult female anopheline mosquitoes were collected. Seasonal prevalence of the malaria vector mosquitoes increased in June, with the highest peak in August, and then decreased in September to October. P. vivax infection of malaria vector mosquitoes tested by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). As a result, the minimum infection rate was 0.82 with 10 P. vivax positive pools among 1,351 tested pools. These results were uploaded at KCDC homepage to help in the malaria elimination campaign.
